Busy busy busy. Part 1.

Hello! Have I ever been busy.

Over the past couple of weeks I've been struck by a huge creative bug, and as an avid war gamer, I noticed that the one I was lacking was some really cool scenery. So, with this in mind, I looked up a bunch of tutorials on how to create your own, for cheap, and decided to try my hand at it.

The following pics are of what I created, and I thought it all turned out pretty damn well, considering this was only my first time truly giving it a go. My aim was to create a whole lot of greenery and ruins, but after watching a tutorial on painting snow, I decided to at least half in a more winter dominated theme. Also, everything you see in these photos was painted by me as I am a poor student with no money to pay others for a professional finish.

I have to give a huge thank you to Dave, and Papa Smurf from miniwargaming, LordOrionis, and Milos and Shomi from Quick Tips for all of the great tips on creating and painting this scenery. Thanks guys!

This building I made completely on my own after creating everything else. On top I painted an eight pointed star of Chaos, while on each of the support pillars are the symbols that represent each of the four Chaos Gods. Here's a variety of angles:

This large ruin was the result of a tutorial I watched on miniwargaming.com from Papa Smurf.

This one was made in the same style as the previous:

And just a couple of random, smashed up ruins.

Here's a partial river I made with tips from Milos and Shomi, I'm just waiting on some silcon glue so I can actually fill it with realistic looking water:

These are some small forests I created:

I learned how to make craters at miniwargaming.com from LordOrionis. I do like how large he makes them on his tutorial, but I wanted something a little more subtle.

Some bikers riding through some open ruins:

And finally, here's a large forest with a crater smack bang in the middle:

I really enjoyed this, and I think I'll move onto some fully enclosed buildings next, I've still got some foam-board leftover, so why not! I'm also super excited to finally use this terrain on table-top as I just finished them today. Thanks for looking through!
