Second World Design Exercise
Hey guys!
Today is going to see a somewhat cheap and child-like photoshop drawing appear on screen, so you have been warned.
Little old New Zealand has a theme park called Rainbows End. Now this theme park has received a lot of flak over the years for being boring and very average, so our lecturer decided to give us a challenge and redesign Rainbows End. We only had one restriction: the design had to stay within the bounds provided in the original image. We had complete free reign and had to utilise what we had learnt over the course so far in regards to worldbuilding.
What I came up with was the idea of creating a Warhammer Fantasy themed theme park for those of us who love that world. It contains six of the factions; Empire, Chaos, Dwarves, Orcs, High Elves and Dark Elves. Those were chosen because they are my personal favorite. Each area has its own unique rides, lore and building appropriate to their faction. In between each faction are re-enactment areas where two neighboring factions fight battles across the theme park.
As a visitor enters the park they will be greeted by the colossal Tower of Ulthuan in the distance, guiding the visitor toward it. There are main and easy to follow paths that the visitor will follow and will lead them around the entirety of the park the easiest and clearest way. Each faction will have some kind of large structure relevant to their faction that will also assist in guiding the visitor to that specific area. Other paths will be available that explore less obvious paths with nice surprises for visitors who explore them.
I hope the image I whipped up in around half an hour with another half hours planning helps solidify the idea in your mind.
